Prerequisites: Tier 1
Training Time: 48 hours
4 Levels, 12 Hours each
Tier 2 training builds on the foundation skills and strategies developed in Tier 1, and progresses skill building through more advanced, yet all too common scenarios involving weapon wielding assailants. Through learning the dynamics, advantages, disadvantages and predictable patterns involving weapons, the Tier 2 training (utilizing the following four modules) systematically makes weapon disarming not only realistic, but practical…even when dealing with multiple armed assailants.
Impact Weapon Defense: This module introduces the fundamentals of all weapon defense. Utilizing techniques gained during Tier 1 instruction, participants learn to engage, disarm, and neutralize an attacker wielding an impact weapon such as a club, bat, tire iron, or brick.
Edged Weapon Defense: The properties of edged weapons are significantly different than impact weapons and require specialized strategies and systems. Participants will learn how to avoid, disarm, and neutralize an attacker with a knife or other edged weapon.
Gun Disarming: Participants of this course will be able to realistically and effectively disarm an attacker wielding a firearm, from hand guns to long guns such as rifles or shotguns.
Multiple Opponents with Weapons: The culmination of the first two tiers of instruction, this course fully reviews and tests all skill sets through advanced problem solving and simulation of this uncomfortably common scenario.
