INPAX® provides Critical Incident Training for Area Teachers & Administrators

Following the Virginia Tech school massacre and recent events such as the Cleveland School Shooting, more school districts and faculties are turning to INPAX® to provide Critical Incident Response Training for their faculties and student bodies.

INPAX® president Sam Rosenberg developed the Critical Incident Response Training (CIRT) program to fill an inherent void in the protective continuum for faculties and students.  With over 50 school shootings since 1996, and student-on-teacher, and student-on-student violence exploding at an alarming rate, the CIRT program provides teachers with the tools necessary to protect themselves from violence, intercede safely and effectively in a fight, and respond should they be faced with a worst case scenario—an active shooter loose in their room.

On top of the growing number of school districts INPAX® provides annual CIRT for, on October 8th, 2007, Sam Rosenberg was invited to present the CIRT program for teachers and administrators county wide at the Allegheny County Professional Development Day.

Participants of the event had this to say:
“I found the presentation to be one of the best and most informative that I have ever attended during an in-service.”

“Excellent....Excellent....!!  I was at your session Monday morning at Bethel Park High School.  It was the best in-service I have been at in a while. “

“This was the best training I’ve ever seen on this subject, and in today’s age, it’s absolutely essential.  Thank you for providing it!”

“Not only was the training absolutely tremendous, but I see additional value for it as a great ‘team building’ exercise for my teachers”

The program has been featured on WTAE Channel 4 news, KDKA Channel 2 news, KDKA radio, and in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

INPAX® Films Oxygen Network/Comcast On-Demand Self Defense Program

Oxygen Channel, Comcast Cable, and INPAX® partnered to film an on-demand self defense program entitled “Fight Like a Girl”.  The “Fight Like a Girl show” was created by the Oxygen network, a cable channel owned and operated by women, for women.

The program teaches women awareness and how to fight back if they find themselves in danger.

Sam Rosenberg and INPAX® was asked to provide the training, and on October 8th, 2007, taught an IMPACT™ (Improvised Protection and Control Tools) class to a standing-room-only group of over a hundred female University of Pittsburgh students.

At INPAX® we believe that 'while it's good to have a lifeguard, it’s better to know how to swim.'  Personal security is, ultimately, an individual responsibility, and personal security training is ultimately an opportunity for personal growth and empowerment.  Programs like Oxygen Channel's, “Fight Like a Girl”, provide just such opportunities for young women to “learn to swim”, and we are privileged to have been a part.

“Fight Like a Girl” will be available for FREE on Comcast’s, On-Demand service in the very near future—Stay Tuned!!”

INPAX® Founder Sam Rosenberg Honored as One of Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest

August 26, 2005

As President and Founder of one of Pittsburgh’s fastest-growing companies, Sam Rosenberg stays quite busy. His company INPAX®, delivers to its clients a simple systematic approach to managing physical conflict in the real world, and has continued to enjoy year over year sales growth, geographic expansion, and a widening appeal among Pittsburghers. But Sam’s success in his career is only one of the reasons for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s selection of him as one of this year’s Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest.

The Foundation’s other criteria, including community activity and a commitment to charitable causes, found Sam to be a leader there as well. A donor and volunteer to many organizations in Pittsburgh, Sam has lent his coaching and training expertise to local Olympic participants, Heinz History Center, The Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, United Jewish Federation, Intestinal Disease Foundation, CAPA School for the Creative and Performing Arts, World Wildlife Federation, American Cancer Society, and to local police, fire and paramedic groups.

An ardent supporter of youth programs, Sam has coached inner city high school wrestling programs, and works with the Center of Life Organization, a community empowerment organization designed to build strong, independent families and young people.

A registered coach, referee and judge for USA Boxing: Golden Gloves and Police Athletic League amateur boxing programs, Sam is now also a proud faculty member of the PA Department of Education accredited Academy of Investigations & Protection.

Sam’s support also reaches into the local stage and film industry where he has donated acting, consulting, and fight choreography services.

His fundraising efforts as part of this year’s 50 Finest, helped to raise more than $175,000 for Cystic Fibrosis. The genetic disease affects more than 30,000 people in the United States and Sam’s efforts will help with the research, care, medical programs, and education which are so important to the organization.

Sam was honored at a black tie gala at Pittsburgh’s Historic Omni William Penn Hotel on Thursday, August 25th at 7:00 PM.

INPAX® allies with BeaveRun Motor Sports Complex and BeaveRun Racing

November, 2006

In our dedication to continuously providing the best and most innovative instruction available in the realm of personal safety and security, INPAX® is proud to announce our affiliation with one of the country’s finest driving schools—located just minutes from Pittsburgh—BeaveRun Motor Sports Complex.

In addition to being one of the nation’s most respected race car driving schools, BeaveRun is one of only a handful of training centers in the United States approved by the State Department to provide security driver training to Special Forces, intelligence operatives and executive protection teams.

INPAX® and BeaveRun have developed two courses specifically for INPAX® clients and their families:

Secure Driving for the Executive:  A one-day course designed both to keep you safe during everyday driving and to equip you with the skills to manage a security situation while in your vehicle. A combination of classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel exercises will cover high speed driving, barricade breaching, escape maneuvers, precision immobilization technique (PIT), vehicle assault resistance (VAR), threat assessment and attack scenarios.

Total Road Skills:  This one-day course, aimed at both young drivers and adults, covers vehicle dynamics, skid control, accident avoidance and practical exercises necessary to hone driving skills, address emergency situations and build confidence behind the wheel. Exercises include instruction in managing ABS and traction control systems.

Whether it’s a situation as common as avoiding a deer on a Western Pennsylvania road or as exotic as avoiding a kidnapping attempt in a Third World country, BeaveRun can equip you with the skills to cope with virtually any behind-the-wheel emergency.

Like our own training at INPAX®, BeaveRun’s instruction is practical, simple to master and easy to retain. It will make you a more confident driver in any set of circumstances, from the mundane to the extreme.

Scott Berkey—an INPAX® client, experienced race car driver and no stranger to drivers training—says of BeaveRun: “I’ve been to some of the most widely recognized drivers’ training schools in the world, including the Porsche Racing School, and I can easily say nothing has come close to what I’ve learned at BeaveRun. Their instruction has given me confidence in my ability to drive on the street that the racing schools I’ve attended can’t begin to equal.”

If you’re interested in the ultimate in practical road instruction—whether for yourself or as a gift for a friend, client or loved one—please contact INPAX® at 888.433.2040 (www.INPAX®.net) or call Marcy Auman directly at BeaveRun 724.535.1000 (www.beaverun.com).

INPAX® Holiday Security Workshops Raise Money for Women’s Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh

November, 2006

As featured in The Hampton News

Tuesday, December 5 was a busy night at Stick With It Fitness, located at Landmark Plaza on Rt. 8. Not only was the gym open to its regular core of exercisers, it was also hosting a highly successful event. Sam Rosenberg, president of INPAX®, a local firm providing Personal Security Training and consulting was leading the group of 33 men, women, and teenagers in “A Practical Approach to Managing Physical Conflict in the Real World”. Through instruction and practice, Sam’s goal for the evening was achieved: participants learned how to manage their personal space, negotiate a conflict, and disable someone if necessary, using common everyday items such as a magazine or pen as a weapon of opportunity. Participants also learned what to look for in assessing a potential threat and what pitfalls to avoid during the holiday season. Even the smallest participant was able to disable a large assailant through use of nerve control tactics.

Similar workshops will be held throughout 2007. Topics will range from “Child Safety-What parents need to know about pedophiles, bullying, and school violence” to “Workplace Violence and Terrorism-Don’t Wait till it’s too late.”

100% of the proceeds from the most recent seminar benefited the Women’s Center and Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh. Look in upcoming issues of The Hampton News for more details on future events.

Maniac Magazine

It’s 10:30pm. The moon is full. You are in a mad dash to hit LEVEL on the Boardwalk for a night of pure sophistication. You are walking to your car, in the neighborhood you’ve lived in for years. You hear footsteps. Someone strikes you from behind. What do you do?

After the MANIAC ONE YEAR spent on the streets, (not to mention, our move to the “Soho Pittsburgh” office) the MANIAC team decided to wise up and found the latest and hippest form of self-defense training in the ‘burgh.
INPAX™ is revolutionary “personal security training” that focuses on practical tactics individuals can use during stressful situations. Whether you’re a woman or a man, young or old, you can benefit from learning self-defense methodology that could save your life.

“Our mission at INPAX™ is to provide individuals the most practical yet sophisticated personal security training available, and through such training provide a means for people to becoming more physically fit and self-confident,” says Sam Rosenberg, owner and founder of INPAX™.
Rosenberg is not a stranger to self-defense. He has been a professional trainer in personal defense since 1996. During his years at the University of Pittsburgh, Rosenberg was involved in the wrestling program and worked in athletics. He also worked as a doorman and learned first hand how to deal with stressful, and often times, violent situations.

After graduation, Rosenberg earned a competitive slot with the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidates School. During his tour of active duty with the U.S. Marines, he was able to formally train in martial arts, weapons and tactics, counter terrorism and close combat. In 2003, Rosenberg realized he could teach others practical tactics based on his real life experiences and launched INPAX™.

“At INPAX™ we believe that training does not have to be extensive. If you spend an hour with me you’ll leave with the skills that will profoundly affect you life”, says Rosenberg, who along with local cliental has also trained a long list of celebrities.

The company sticks with a tagline of “confidence for life” because as Rosenberg adds, “we wanted to describe what INPAX™ can give people besides the skills.” After taking the class everyone at MANIC agreed that anxiety and stress levels dropped considerably. This seems to be the consensus because Rosenberg and staff have found that clients continue training because they like the personal development and self-confidence they feel. With INPAX™ all the programs are designed especially for the individual and they are fun! It does not matter how physically fit you are. After a few sessions you’ll find yourself in better shape because of the training. The staff can evaluate your level after taking the one-hour PROACT™ course, which is the first of the INPAX™ program. PROACT™ (Protection & Control Tactics™) is a stand-alone program that teaches you how to recognize and avoid an attack.
The benefit of INPAX™ is that you can take any of their courses as a stand-alone course with no prior martial arts or self-defense training. The second course is REACT™ (Response & Control Tactics™) and includes such topics as rapid response and escape maneuvers. The third course is IMPACT™ (Improvised Protection & Control Tools™) and this course teaches how to use common day objects like magazines and pens against attackers. (Side note: a MANIAC magazine is a very useful self-defense tool and we encourage everyone to keep one handy!) Also, there are additional tiers of personal security training that are offered for more advanced clients.

Typical training is 1 to 2 hours per week and INPAX™ offers special group or workplace seminars. “The knowledge is not out there for personal security training and INPAX™ will help you to systematically gain control of your environment”, says Rosenberg.
